Next stop Canada... After two
months of isolation the alpacas are one step closer to their final
destination of Gloucestershire, England. Dr Eric Neate of Big
Creek
Vet Hospital observes the alpacas being loaded for transport. The
trailer was cleaned disinfected and inspected by Dr Neate prior to
loading the alpacas. The alpacas next stop was the Canadian border
crossing at Lewiston. The alpacas where inspected again by the CFIA
(Candian Food Inspection Agency) vet and the trailer sealed. At this
point no one can enter the trailer until the alpacas reach their
final destination. After a 90 minute trip the alpacas finally arrive
at Cayuse Creek Ranch where they are met again by a CFIA vet and the
seal is removed from the trailer. The alpacas are inspected before
they are unloaded and moved to their new Canadian isolation
facility. The alpacas will be in isolation for 90 days and then
remain in Canada for 6 more months before being flown to England.
